Being in the public eye, even as a D list celebrity on a trashy reality tv show means that every element of your life, including your past will be under the microscope. Since she left her Amish family, Shekinah was trying to show everyone that she was doing alright on her own, but in reality, her life wasn't perfect, but she endeavors to portray it as such to the world.
Shekinah's earlier financial troubles were disclosed, after her debut on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way with her boyfriend Sarper Güven. She exposed the 90 day fiancé viewers to her extravagant lifestyle while hanging out with her superficial "LA people".
According to InTouch magazine, Shekinah Garner declared her bankruptcy back in July 2007. The TLC star stated in the filings that she was filing as an individual with the listed trustee, David Farmer. Her case was eventually dismissed later on the 29th of October 2007.
At 41 year old, Shekinah Garner finally got her life back on track. Before her move to Turkey, she had two attractive occupations, in addition to her reality television career, when she was cast on the millionaire matchmaker show. Alongside her aesthetician career, Shekinah also co-hosted events in Los Angeles, bringing attractive people to create a vibrant atmosphere.
On the show, when the new couple met again in Turkey, they had a lot of disagreements, mainly about the furniture inside of Sarper's apartment. She also said that she admires Sarper for his brilliance and philosophical outlook.
